Launched in 2020, the Zero SR/S electric motorbike is the fully faired version of the SR/F and delivers up to a 13% improvement in highway efficiency. The new chassis, suspension, controller, motorcycle, electronics, stability system, brakes, tyres and drive-train combine to deliver astounding performance and a riding experience like no other. With no clutch or gearshift to worry about you can just tuck in behind the cockpit and focus on your road position, line, lean angle and speed. You'll always be in the right gear and the class-shattering torque will always be on tap, but without overwhelming the available grip.

The new Z-Force 75-10 motor uses an uprated controller that can deliver up to a colossal 900 amps from the 14.4 kWh Power Pack to yield a peak output of 82 kW (110 hp) at 5,000 RPM and an astounding 140 ft lb of torque, from the first RPM. At just 505 lb (229 kg) this translates to a real-world 0-60 of just over 3 seconds, which doesn't require any special launch control technology or a race-trained rider; simply select Sport Mode, twist the throttle and hold on tight, all the way to a top speed of 124 mph.

The all new, 43 mm, Big Piston, Showa front forks and rear, 40mm piston, piggy back reservoir shock both have fully adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping. Under the control of the Bosch Advanced MSC, which manages the ABS and traction control functions, up front there's a pair of 320 mm discs that are gripped by meaty, monobloc, 4-piston J-Juan callipers and on the rear there's a 240 mm disc with a single piston calliper.

The SR/S is a highly customisable electric motorcycle with four different riding modes, adjustable engine braking (with varying degrees of energy recovery), adjustable traction control and adjustable drag torque control with a 30% slipper clutch effect. Aside the riding modes, which are selected from the switchgear and viewed on the all new TFT colour dash, everything is controlled from Zero's mobile app over a Bluetooth or mobile data connection.

The SR/S's trellis frame is hand made in Italy, alongside those made for Ducati, so quality and finish is as you'd expect.

A standard 14.4 kWh Power Pack delivers a city range of 161 miles, which can be extended up to 200 miles with the optional Power Tank. This can also extend the combined (city/highway) range of 109 miles to 136 miles.

The Standard version of the SR/S charges at 3 kW whilst the Premium model charges at 6 kW. Both versions can be fitted with a 6 kW Charge Tank, which means that recharge times (to 95%) vary as follows: -

The Power Tank cannot be combined with a Charge Tank and adds 20 kg (44 lb), taking the total weight of the Standard SR/S to 549 lb (249kg) and the Premium to 560 lb (254 kg).

Aside Bluetooth connectivity the SRF has a Cellular and GPS module to perform OTA software updates, and allows real-time tracking via the mobile app, which also provides a range of information over a mobile data connection.

All lighting is provided by high output, low energy LED technology and an RFID immobiliser protects the SR/S from being activated without an original key.
